Why

The Cowboys defense was the story of the team last year, as they were ranked bottom tier in also every category. They were able to trade for Rashan Gary and also resign Quinnen Williams, and drafting Caleb Downs definitely adds to their secondary help.

It's the same story every year in Dallas. Dak and this offense will keep them in every game, but the defense will make it impossible for this team to make any serious motion towards a Super Bowl. Will continue to be the most exciting games to watch this season, which is not a compliment.

Nothing really felt right about the Cowboys last year. They scored 27.7 PPG (7th) and Dak threw for 4,552 yards and 30 TDs, but the defense allowed a brutal 30.1 PPG (32nd). If CeeDee Lamb stays healthy and George Pickens can produce anything close to his 1,429-yard season, the offense isn’t the problem. Fix the defense even slightly and 11-6 is realistic.
