The Niners injury woes carry over into this season as Pershall is already missing the season. Adding Mike Evans gives Purdy another weapon on offense but health again will be the main question.

The injury bug is already hitting this team in early August, and I think father time is coming for Shanahan's roster. They should sneak into the playoffs, but I think the years of top play from San Fran are behind us.

The 49ers were basically a walking hospital last year, and I think the injuries played a huge role in a defense that never looked like itself. They still went 12-5, but their 10.1 expected wins suggest some regression was coming anyway. If they can be even 25% healthier, this is a completely different team. God willing they stay healthy, because 9-8 could look very wrong.
